Who Is A One Asphalt
A Queensland Business With a Long History
A One Asphalt has been operating in South East Queensland for more than three decades. Based in Morayfield, the business has worked on everything from residential driveways and rural accessways to shopping centres, school grounds, roads and civil construction projects.
The A One name dates back to the days of the Yellow Pages, when appearing near the beginning of the directory helped customers find a business. The name has stayed with the company through more than 30 years of work across the asphalt industry.
Brett Allen and the team have worked on sites with different ground conditions, access restrictions, drainage requirements and construction needs. Some projects require a new pavement to be constructed, while others involve repairing or replacing asphalt that has deteriorated through years of use.
Residential driveways remain an important part of our work, alongside commercial paving, school projects and civil roadworks. We also undertake smaller repairs and maintenance jobs, so customers don’t need to have a major construction project to contact us.
What We Do
Asphalt Paving, Bitumen Sealing and Civil Works
A One Asphalt provides hot mix asphalt paving, bitumen spray sealing, road construction and pavement repairs for residential, commercial and civil customers. Our work includes new driveways, car parks, industrial hardstands, access roads, school grounds and sporting courts.
We also carry out the construction work required before a surface can be paved. This can involve excavation, earthworks, road base preparation, compaction and drainage. Ground conditions, pavement levels and the type of traffic using the area all influence how the pavement needs to be constructed.
For existing asphalt surfaces, we undertake pothole repairs, patching, overlays, resurfacing and replacement of damaged pavement. Where the supporting road base has failed, repairs may require excavation and reconstruction rather than simply placing more asphalt over the damaged area.
Our civil work includes road construction, pavement rehabilitation, trench reinstatements, speed humps and associated drainage works. We also construct sporting surfaces, including tennis and netball courts that may require specialist coloured finishes.
Experience and Capability
Over the years, A One Asphalt has undertaken work at schools, shopping centres, sporting facilities and civil construction sites throughout South East Queensland. These projects have involved different pavement requirements, from new asphalt construction to repairs and improvements to existing paved areas.
School and sporting facility projects have included work on paved areas and sporting courts. Tennis and netball courts can require specialist surface treatments, while school access roads and car parks need to accommodate regular vehicle movements, drainage and surrounding infrastructure.
Commercial and civil construction brings a different set of requirements. Car parks, loading areas and roads may need excavation, new road base, drainage works or removal of existing pavement before asphalt can be laid. Repairs to roads and operational sites can also involve joining new pavement to existing surfaces while maintaining suitable levels and drainage.
Our experience covers the preparation and surfacing stages of these projects. That includes work that may not be visible once construction is finished, such as the compacted road base, drainage and ground preparation beneath the asphalt. These elements are important to how the pavement performs once it is in use.
Who We Work With
A One Asphalt works with homeowners, rural property owners, commercial businesses, property managers, builders, civil contractors, schools and government organisations requiring new asphalt construction or repairs to existing pavement.
If you’re building a home, improving an acreage property or replacing an old driveway, you may need more than a new asphalt surface. The existing ground, driveway length, slope, drainage and vehicle access can all influence the preparation and construction work required.
For commercial property owners and managers, asphalt work may involve constructing a new car park, replacing damaged pavement or maintaining access roads used by customers, staff and delivery vehicles. The work needs to account for how the property is used and the condition of the existing surfaces.
Builders and civil contractors may require asphalt paving as part of a larger development or infrastructure project. Schools and public facilities may need car park works, accessways, sporting surfaces or repairs to existing roads. We can discuss the extent of the pavement work and how it relates to the wider project.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why A One Asphalt Is Different
We know what happens beneath the asphalt.
A new asphalt surface relies on the pavement supporting it. If the ground is unsuitable, the road base is poorly prepared or water cannot drain away, the finished surface may develop problems. Our work includes the excavation, preparation and drainage needed before paving begins.
We consider the condition of existing pavement.
Not every damaged asphalt surface needs complete replacement, and resurfacing is not suitable for every problem. Potholes, cracking, surface wear and failed road base can require different repairs. Identifying the extent of the damage helps establish what work is needed.
We have experience across different construction sites.
An acreage driveway, school car park and commercial access road place different demands on the pavement. Vehicle loads, drainage, ground conditions and site access influence the construction requirements. Our project history covers these different types of work.
We work on smaller jobs as well as major projects.
You can contact us about a driveway extension, a damaged section of asphalt or a larger construction project. Smaller repairs and residential paving are part of our regular work, not services reserved for customers undertaking major developments.
