Residential Asphalt Driveway Construction Starts Below the Surface
Whether you’re building a new home, replacing a gravel driveway or paving a long acreage accessway, the condition of the ground will affect the work required. Slopes, drainage, existing road base and vehicle access all need consideration before asphalt is laid.
A One Asphalt provides residential asphalt driveway construction across Moreton Bay, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. With over 30 years of experience in earthworks and asphalt paving, we can undertake the excavation, road base construction, drainage and hot mix asphalt surfacing needed for your property, without requiring you to organise separate contractors for each stage.
New Asphalt Driveways & Rural Accessways
A One Asphalt constructs new residential asphalt driveways for homes, new builds and acreage properties across Moreton Bay, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Whether you’re replacing a gravel driveway, paving access to a new home or constructing a long rural accessway, we handle excavation, road base preparation, drainage and hot mix asphalt paving.
Longer driveways, sloping blocks and uneven ground can require additional preparation. We also provide bitumen spray sealing where suitable, with the choice of surface depending on driveway length, vehicle use, site conditions and budget.
Driveway Extensions, Resurfacing & Repairs
Need additional parking, a wider driveway entrance or better access to your garage or shed? A One Asphalt constructs asphalt driveway extensions that connect with existing paved areas while maintaining suitable surface levels and drainage.
We also repair worn and damaged asphalt driveways, including potholes, cracking, broken edges and uneven surfaces. Where the existing pavement remains sound, asphalt resurfacing or an overlay may be suitable. More extensive damage can require sections of the driveway and supporting road base to be removed and reconstructed before new asphalt is laid.
Planning a New Driveway or Replacing an Old One?
If you’re building a new home, upgrading a gravel accessway or dealing with a driveway that’s deteriorating, it’s worth finding out what’s involved before committing to the work.
The existing ground and any preparation needed can make a difference to the job and its cost.
Tell us where your property is and what you’d like done. We can discuss the driveway, any issues with the existing surface and what information is needed for a quote.
Our Asphalt Driveway Process
1. Site Assessment & Quote
We discuss the proposed driveway, its location, dimensions, existing surface and any issues with access or drainage. The work required depends on the site, and an inspection may be needed before a quote can be prepared.
2. Excavation & Base Preparation
Where required, existing material is removed and the ground excavated to establish suitable levels. Road base is placed and compacted, with drainage and connections to surrounding paved areas considered during preparation.
3. Asphalt Laying & Compaction
Hot mix asphalt is delivered, spread across the prepared pavement and compacted using suitable equipment. The asphalt is laid to the required surface levels, taking account of drainage and connections to existing surfaces.
4. Final Checks & Completion
Once paving and compaction are complete, the finished area can be checked for surface levels, edges and connections. The asphalt must cool sufficiently before vehicles use the driveway, with timing dependent on the conditions.
